What happened on the Canon website? There are very few lenses listed there. The last two lenses I bought are missing, the 35f2 and the 85f1.8.
What is up?

Must be doing some site maintenance or something. The only super T listed is the 800.

If you go to canonrumors there are a TON missing.. I'm going to be severely disappointed if they just updated the 50mm 1.4 because i just ordered one and should be here any day now. ;-\ I guess i'd return it if they did update it but i'd lose out on a good coupon. Ah well.. Guess we'll find out next week!!

The last time I looked, almost all the fixed focal length lenses were missing, with a few Ls still there. Many of the older zooms were gone as well.

Is Canon going out of the lens business? There is hardly anything left. No more nifty fifties.

They are most likely just doing some updates.

Most of the missing lenses are in the archive section with the other obsoleted products.

They're all still listed on the Dutch Canon site :D.

Kind regards, Wim

I see what your talking about macroimage but if you look at canons website right now, they still have the 70-300 f/4-5.6 IS USM, which is also in their archive.

So I think they by default put the lens in there for a historical point of view, not from a retirement point. But maybe I am wrong, so who knows till January 5th and 9th.

The Canon museum has nearly all of the lenses, current and past. The product archive is here:

which oddly doesn't contain any zooms...

Maybe this is the lens update where they put true ring USM into the lens...they want you to suffer for jumping the gun! ;)
