Had a quick play with a 7D today, that AF system is way cool as is the IQ. Thinking seriously of upgrading the 50D, noise is just downright annoying. Anyone else done this?

The AF was the most impressive thing, the 5D II would be a pants bird camera IMO, just not fast enough. Since it would not be used as a landscape lens the lower ISOs are not important really. http://natureimmortal.blogspot.com
