Hello my fellow wedding photographers!

I am sitting here at my In-laws, trying to avoid all of the relatives I cannnot remember an that got me to thinking on what I am going to differently in 2010.
Personal choices aside, when it comes to my business I think I will be changing a lot of things.

My work flow, my associations, and mostly I will be trying my hardest to bust out of my " shy and not wanting to be pushy" shell. I think being a tad more aggressive might help my business grow.

I also think that 2010 will bring in a lot of changes in the industry as well.

So I ask, what do you plan on changing in 2010 and where do you see the wedding photography trend heading??

My plan for change is going to sound kind of strange: NOT BUYING ANY NEW EQUIPMENT! Seriously... only if something breaks - but even then I would like to get it fixed instead of buying a new camera or something. I go way too crazy with tech.

As far as trends go... who knows? I've been seeing more high-end photographers use more magazine-style "fashion" stuff than I am used to. Some former photojournalists seem to be moving away from the storytelling approach into a more careful old-school approach.

Haha, I'm also not planning to buy any equipment this year. I am going to try and focus on marketing this year. I'm cutting my wedding volume in half this year so I can have more time for family and admin/marketing.

haha I want to buy more equipment! I have been too frugal! I agree with you candj. I see more tradition coming back into the picture. Brides love the look, but don't necessarily want it. They know it is trendy and that in 20 they will wonder why they didn't have a shot of them looking straight at the camera...
