I'm just beginning to enjoy macro photography. It is in my garden but I have no idea of what it is. Critics and comments please. Need tips and technique to improve. Thanks for sharing your views. Enjoy...

looks like a species of Tortoise beetle; you are in the right part of the world for exotic bugs - lucky devil!

The head is of tortoise beetle, very interesting white shell, is it dirt or insect feature ?
