I'm not sure if this is really a suitable forum for these kinds of pictures, I've taken a bit of a contemporary turn in my work these days and I'm really happy about it. Long story short I sold a few images lately and seem to be getting some attention on where I am "going" with these. I've learned to actually like noise, out of focus, things that give something a whole new meaning.

I'm curious to hear of what more people think. Overall I'm liking this side, being a lover of poetry and a poet, I've started to implement this in my photography. I figure its something people will either like or hate...like any form of art. If I can call it that lol

really like #1 and #3, #2 doesn't really do it for me though.

just curious- do you think #1 might be a bit more striking if you had the wine in colour?

I really like them all. I have found the joys of B&W recently and have started using it more in this season of my life too. BTW, Was #3 shot with fisheye???

I like strict B&W on the first. But it does feel like too much is competing on the left side of the frame (wine glass/out of focus chairs), with too much dead space on the middle right.

#3 is a great image. I might try it with a little less black on the bottom and left side to play up the curves in the composition, but it is a great shot.

I really really like #3
#1...without a "subject" I'm not able to understand what the point of the image is.
The half wine glass? the faint couple in the background? That big black blob to the right?

#2...dont do much for me either...but I wonder what the shot would look like if you would gotten down lower at the bottom of the stairs and was able to get the top of that building in the back?
think you could get that person with the umberella to walk down the steps again too?.cause I think that adds to the shot...heh

again..I really like #3...good capture

Thanks everyone, #3 is not a fish eye but actually my cell phone :-). shhhh don't tell anyone. I've been purposely working on framing and composition with crappy cameras/lenses.

the blob on the first one is actually a woman.
