I'm in the process of installing a new WACOM Cintiq 12" to a McBook Pro Laptop. All has been done except that I dont have a second display in the Wacom tablet. I knew that there is a connection between wacom and computer because the screen display in the wacom is the background image in my computer but when i open Lightroom and Photoshop, still it is the image displayed.

What I am missing here?

Wacom support might be the best one to check with for installation issues.

The problem is that you just installed the Wacom, and PS still opens on your laptop display?

Go to system preferences > displays. A window should open on both screens. See how the screens are set up (position relative to each other) and after oipening PS, drag the PS windows you want over.
Save your PS work space before and after you do this, so you can easy switch from one to two screen mode.

If PS won't open on the new screen, maybe set the Wacom as main screen. You probably want that anyway, since you also want the dock ;)

Is your intent to have your entire workspace displayed on the Wacom or just the window with the image you are working on, with all of the toolbars and palettes on the MBP display?

I would think you want just the window that contains your image on the Wacom, to maximize image real estate, and everything else on the MCP display - then use keyboard shortcuts to change modes, tools, etc so you are not mousing back and forth across displays. To do this, follow René's suggestions about arranging the displays in the System Preferences. If you are using PSCS4, you may have your application in Application Frame mode - you may need to uncheck this option to go to the traditional windowed mode, then you can drag that window over to the Wacom display. You can also drag any other PS window over too, like the tools, etc. Lightroom is probably different, slightly, as I believe that it has its own way of dealing with multiple displays internal to Lightroom.

Good luck! let us know how the Cintiq works for you, as that is a pretty cool concept.
