I don't think I have posted in this section before, but here goes. I have been tinkering with my brand new 5D Mkii camera, and took it to Hamilton Gardens last Friday. Early evening provided some spectacular light and I took advantage of it. Here are a few images:

You're closer to the mark than you realize. As an Aussie, I'm freezing to death in the middle of a NZ winter!:)

Although the camera is amazing, the light was even better. Who needs raw when jpgs come out like this? (P.S. I did take raw as well but there was no need to use them).

Many thanks. I cannot say enough about the capabilities of the Canon 5D Mkii. The colour representation is amazing, the focussing is wonderful. And to think, I was considering changing to the dark side a few months ago!

24-105 and yes, handheld. There's not much need for a tripod with IS. Having said that, I was lying flat on the ground for some of these; thankfully the ground was dry!

It is summer in NZ, but I'm an Aussie, so I'm freezing to death in their "summer"; their temps only get up to around 70s.

NZ is a photographer's dream destination. This is my 15th trip!

Wow, some lovely colours there. 15 trips? It must be that good! It's been a good 10 years since I went over the ditch for a visit but one of these years I'm bound to do a trip although my trip wish list is getting ridculously long now. Don't you hate that!

Get on down and get some photos. It would be nice to see the sun though...
