How much for news-worthy photos?

I'm sure most of you have seen that photo of the airline bomber being apprehended by passengers on Christmas day. Looked like it was possibly taken with a cell phone.

Anybody know what price a photo like that would fetch? The news station I first saw it on claimed exclusivity, and I'm sure they would have been willing to pay for it, I just don't know how much.

Just curious, no other reason. But, ya never know, maybe someday I'll find myself in the right place at the right time... although in that particular case I'm glad I wasn't there.

Photos like that where the person who took it also has a story to tell are distorted in price. It is a sad state that news stations are paying for interviews -- CNN paid the guy $10K for the photo because it also came with the interview.
