He'd cram another 3 in if he could. Belong to the same family as the crow, even though crows hate them. An interesting bird and shot:cool:

They do like their peanuts. Around here, I put out peanuts in the shell and have often seen them pack as many as 3 into their gullets before flying off with them. Amazing to watch.

Ha-ha, I feed the crows, no blues here.

Think of crows as enforcers... they nearly killed a BJ that was dumb enough to go after bait in a live squirrel trap. Jays aren't near as world aware as crows. The crows wasted no time in going after then jay, funny too because normally then stay about 1 foot away from the trap. This time one crow perched on the top, and on by the trap's side. The were politely taking turns pecking the jay to what would have been death.

Fortunately for the jay I heard the commotion, and to the crows displeasure freed the BJ. He was unharmed save a tail feather or two. A couple weeks latter I think the crows jumped him and "capped" him. No love lost there...

Both species are fond of peanuts. Whole peanuts make things more interesting;)

They usually cram 4, up to 5 - but that peanut was a bit too much!

I have not tried the whole peanuts yet; they might prove too difficult for the Titmice?

Depends what who you want to come for lunch.
Crows (or ravens) are who I'm looking for. Very weary of humans, but well worth the trouble it takes to win their trust. They're hilarious, with a real sence of humor, a culture, and language with a zest for life. They are also tool users... much more than a noisy pest.

I don't have a lot of crows around here.

Besides a gang of 5 or 6 Blue Jays, my regulars are some Titmice, a couple of White-breasted Nuthatches, and some Cardinals - then I prefer to stick to the peanuts out of the shell...

Thanks for the comments.
