Feb 15, 2016 14:44 | #725 These images are awesome, and I have one suggestion for you that I think would take them to awesome+. Either gel your light to match the color of the lightsaber, or select the highlights and midtones on the surfaces of Kylo that face the saber and give them a red tint. It should be subtle, but perceptible. The direction of the lighting and black background implies that he's being lit by the lightsaber, but the cool white lighting sort of breaks the illusion IMO. 5DSR, 6D, 16-35/4L IS, 85L II, 100L macro, Sigma 150-600C

The base is a soft-edged white shape with an outer glow, and also a hint of inner glow, the classical way of making fake neon signage in Photoshop. That gets you Episode IV lightsaber. You need to artistically embellish the shape and glow to taste if you're after the fiery look of the latest movies that BrantG has above. Using a drawing tablet helps for this. BrantG Goldmember More info Post edited over 7 years ago by BrantG. | Mar 08, 2016 10:29 | #732 For my Kylo Ren, I just found some free brushes for Photoshop that "looked" appropriate for the effects on his saber. Then I just use the same technique on those layers that I use for my saber, so it all looks the same.

I was never a fan of the Sideshow brand of 1/6 Star Wars but the HT versions are insane looking. Love those HT Kylo Rens shots you provided.
