2 different B&W conversions

The first, I did by hand. The second, I clicked on "TriX", or something, in Silver FX Pro. I know what I think, but I'd rather read what you think. Shot with a Canon G9.

You mean as far as which one is better? I personally much prefer #1.

I see what you were trying to do with teh second one.. but I also prefer the first version. Pity that half of the lady on the right is missing. But great picture nevertheless. :)

Yes, I like the warmth of the hand-conversion; in reality it is a very warm space. The second one just feels clinical to me, like a hospital emergency waiting area. I don't remember why the left edge of the second one is cropped that way, but I didn't spend a lot of time with it, I only converted then threw it up there to try to understand why one is better than the other. I spent some time on the first one.

No1 for me .
Much richer tones.
2nd is washed out and areas appear over exposed.

Agree with the lot! One is a winner in my book. To me there is something more forgiving about the darker shots. Its like wearing black- it hides a multitude of flaws!
