As the title says, Does the lens matter in HDR? I have a kit 28-135mm lens and a 50mm 1.4 lens. I am just curious if a certain type of lens would make for a better HDR photo.. Thanks..

The better the lens, the better the image in general. However, both lenses you list out there are pretty decent lenses and should create a great base image to work from. Not sure why, but call me JJ.

Kirk Very true, the only issues regarding the lens I have noticed as having significant impact on the final outcome is some of the prosumer lenses. CA being the worst of the problems but also soft images when the lens is stopped down beyond f/11, and that really can vary from lens to lens.

navydoc Cream of the Crop More info | I also find I get better results doing hdr images when the entire frame is in focus. Shallow DOF doesn't work as well for hdr for me. Gene - My Photo Gallery ||
