First outing of 2010 Need ID

This is from my first outing of 2010.
We went to the Edwin B. Forsythe National Wildlife Refuge in New Jersey.
There were many Hooded Merganser & Tundra Swans & a pair I cant ID.
Please help with Id if you can? Comments welcome

Nice catch on the Mergansers...I never get them to let me close enough for a decent shot.

I googled American Coots and you are right.
I couldn't get to close to the Mergansers either.

I would Say those are American Coot also known as Mudhens!!
