hmmmm.... $2576 CDN... now I wished I waited for mkII had I known it was in the works when I purchased my mkI (new) late last year :(

Where the hell did you buy your mk1 from to be even close to the price of the mk2
I know I got mine for waaaaay less than that.

For those that have a good copy of the MK 1, keep it! :) The price of this lens will come down in 10 years when Canon releases a MK III with 5 stop IS. ;)

I'm relying on that ;)

One of those has to be wrong. There is no way it is only $77 more expensive in Canada; that doesn't jive with any other Canon lens prices.

And yea, even if it is $2576 CDN I am happy I recently bought the Mark I for $1675.

The Camera Store in Calgary is consistantly the best price in the country for Canon stuff.

For the extra $500 I figured it was worth it. Now I don't have to worry about thinking, should I have bought the new one?

True of published data. If you walk into Vistek or Saneal and ask for a price, they'll usually check the online price mentioned above, then beat it. This morning I got a 580 II for $33 less than The Camera Store this way.

Yay more threads on this!

Now where's the 85L IS?

The 85L is beast enough...not sure I could handle it with IS :)

Sure, but what other high-end L is nearly the same price there as Adorama?
