Plus they require more food to keep body temps up. I really want a bird table and bath for the garden, but they seem quite expensive & our windows are not clean enough! this is the one I've got... 500px

Thats a f*cking huge waste of £300m. The idea is it's more for the kids to use and get used to having a computer lest they fall behind educationally. With the computers being made available for the poorest of the poor. Downside I see to this is that it's really more about people who care/don't care about computers that are the issue for children not having computers, Netbooks are so damn cheap now that the poor whose dole pays for christmas lights on their council house for a few months of the year and sky subscriptions and mobile phones can really afford one of those. They need to convince the luddites as to why a computer will help their child. Kaben wrote in post #9373497 All the while these things keep happening, i cant help but think that Labour are trying to mess everything up as much as they can before the (conservatives?) get into power. Why not, worked for the Tories in the 90s. If you make enough mess you can even blame it on the incoming party, ala the Millenium Dome being blamed on Labour by the Tory party that started it. Nontheless if the Tories do get back in we'll not see anything improve as the "New Labour" party just copied 90% of their stuff from the Tory party handbook. Problem is you need a balance of left and right wing to keep the country on an even keel and for the last 30 years we've leaned mostly right. 5D | 40D | Σ24 f1.8 | 50 f1.8 II | 85 f1.8 | 70-200 F4L | 540EZ x2 | Nissin Di622

It's about time someone stood up in parliament and pointed out that public services should be nationalised and part funded by the government. They want people on the busses and trains then maybe they should make them cheaper than driving. Never going to happen while the private companies need to show a profit. Similarly the postal service, if they didn't need to try and pull a profit from somewhere and lose loads of money doing the hard work for "competitors" then we might get an efficient system back where the post was delivered before you went to work and you even got a second post in the afternoon. Hmms, sorry, climbed on my soapbox again. All good points Rob

The Labour party have leaned to the right with their main policies while leaning left with their unemployment/etc policies. Can't accuse them of being right there. Downside is I think we need to reverse that, left wing the issues that effect everyone, over tax the rich people (as much as they can moan, someone earning over 100k on their own in a year won't really notice 5% extra tax), and chuck the money in education and healthcare. That said I'd get rather right wing on the dole junkies by making them work for their dole handout. Unskilled workers built most of our rail and road infrastructure in the past, they can get to work improving it now, and if they don't want to do that then they can get a job elsewhere. 5D | 40D | Σ24 f1.8 | 50 f1.8 II | 85 f1.8 | 70-200 F4L | 540EZ x2 | Nissin Di622
