A and E have special ring cutters, you were lucky people have complete shedded their fingers doing something similar. Is it a valueable ring either financially or sentimentally?

Yeah I have seen some H&S videos where guys have lost fingers doing similar , sentimental uuhhh yeah............its my engagement ring that my wife got me 18yrs ago.............that cut is deep and goes right round the inside part of the finger and it swollen up now as you can see, the the big dent in the ring...........didn't stop us getting the shots at the place today though...........

Lee like these two, the middle one does not do much for me, not to sure if it is the colour.

Thanks Adrian - I was trying out an experiment - as my company are looking to get someone to produce some "stock" photos... worryingly my screen at home is clearly so out of whack I didn't even notice the colour banding in the two money photos... might be time for a colour monitor widget to get it back on track!

or a trip to Specsavers?!

If I were you I would head down to A and E, looking at it they will most likely want to x ray it. The ring is most likely slowing down the cirucalation which may make the swelling worse. Unfortunately Kris is out or I would have asked for her 'expert medical opinion'. Do you blame the wife for buying you the ring.

Your dedication to the cause is commendable!!

@ whoever posted up about those Scott Kelby books (was it swaffs or ies?) - i bought them and i must say i am really enjoying reading them. Some excellent advice in there :)

+1 for A+E - you dont want to risk servere injury just for the sake of a couple of hours wait. Plus if your finger is damaged how are you going to press the shutter button!?

Bugger that mate, I'll be down there till this evening, gonna crack out the pliers or the Dremel shortly.............hopefully can get the ring repaired as it certainly has sentimental value

LOL :D;)

I'll throw up some shots of one of them shortly if you want...............lol

Had to cut an explore short today, big steel fence all the way round this place with box section on the top and welded to this 1/4" thk serrated plate, first time I have seen on of these, my gradistep ladder that we use to get over the normal 3 spike baliistrade fences totally useless on here. Anway nothing for it but to start climbing, got over no problem but started lowering myself down on the other side and realised that my glove and more specifically my ring got caught on the spikes............

You know whats coming next...............ring digs into finger and I have a nice deep cut all the way round the ring, bleeding badly and the ring is so bent out of shape there is no way its ever coming off withous cutting.............anyways being a responsible UE'r break out the travel first aid kit, copious plasters and bandage and we are again on our way, get our shots at this place, but my glove is caked in blood and the finger is so swollen now that the ring is actually digging in!!

Home now and wondering whether to cut it off myself or get down to AE and endure a massive wait

 You're gonna cut off your own finger?? ;)

True dedication! :D

Looks pretty nasty though, I too advise a trip to A&E, I don't want your next shot to be one where you have accidentally chopped your finger off trying to free your ring! :p

Do you really want a Chopper on your ring?

Big game tonight! I'm not looking forward to this one! I reckon Tevez hatrick is on the cards!

Tomorrow night at the Emirates shooting Arsenal V Bolton, will it be revenge for the Northerners? I hope so....

my thinktank raincover just arrived, will have a play when I get home.

Great shot, that really is a lovely staircase.

Have you thought about just amputating the finger to reduce the damage to the ring??
