I think it's more like a swingball stand with a torch taped to a model airplane which is tied to the end of the piece of rope

I haven't quite figured it out either. Wouldn't that method have the airplane flying into the stand?

=Matt 'Photog' Peters;9545916]Right need some help .. The family I shot for like this pic, but I stupidly left my flash by his left side and forgot to turn it off!!

As you can see it has blown out his left side, they want it printed on canvas and would look pants as it is.. Any tips on how I can save it?

Find someone that looks like them and re-shoot? :D

Those ones are pretty obviously a guy with a bit of string and a flash light attached to the end. You can see where he's standing (external link) and also where the light fades out at the top & bottom when the light is facing away from the camera.

How about you get it right in camera? </uppity member impression>

I'd start with burning the hair to try and reduce the lightening. Maybe duplicate layers and fiddle with levels and masking.

great pic Hayden well captured!

So...
Saturday, I need to help the missus make a Ipod cake in the morning bout could come out from 2 ish until sunset has gone (5ish?)

How does that work for anyone else? I know Ian may have to pull out, I was contemplating going to a comon/park somewhere rather than central london to concentrate on some portable lighting techniques, rather than fighting all the public/security.

I'm not overly worried about getting any specific shot/scenery but keen to learn/play with kit.

I'm happy with doing the Subway, as long as I don't get all my gear wet again!

If I get my camera in time, ill head back to London with the car. Can park it in the tunnel for some strobed photos. :)

TBH I'd not have let them see it. Unless it was an amazing shot and you'd never capture another so good.

Ah I I show through a folder that only has the edited JPEGs in. No way they can get confused. That said I've only done a few sets so far.

Can you beleive this guy. Mike I know you have already replied.
https://photography-on-the.net …php?p=9545171#post9545171

It just disappoints me at how angry he is for someone paying for a service they did not look into properly.

Woh! what a thread. But the one post that caught my eye was the one where he posts some examples of his work........now were I looking for a wedding or portrait tog I am sure I could find one or more with far greater image quality & creativity but why did he get one praise post and no "reflective" c&c as per what his images say about his quality & value for money FWIW the B&W was the best of the bunch but every other one IMO was just 'off' in one way or another e.g. composition, static/disengaged subject and just plain boring.

If they are representative of his best work then maybe just maybe he is refering to himself as charging too much for low grade work ~ or perhaps his competition in his locale are, well, possibly......no I cannot write the word(s) ;)

That was a great meal ~ you must have a good set of pans :p

I personally think he was losing out on business to cheaper photography members in his area and had a poor portfolio overall.

In a nutshell, a terrible business man blaming others who have marketed themselves better then he did.
