Just got home from a meeting at work where we were told that two people out of the five employed are to be made redundant by the end of next week, they have know about this since November but not told us even when we asked if there was any chance of this happening at christmas they said no. Why couldn't the lying t**ts have been honest at least it would of given us chance to look for another job.

That is a bad place to find yourself in but sadly "they" are obliged to tell everyone in the same department to avoid a challenge of favouritism/bias. Though when similar happened to me (only two of us to be affected) the MD basically told me I had nothing to be worried about! As for whether they could/should have announced it before Xmas ~ well they likely needed all of you over that period and you could all have up sticks and found new jobs...............but it sucks big time to be just a cog in the machine and what is worse to actually be treated like one :(

So be positive mate in the meantime and see what pans out for you???

That was a great meal ~ you must have a good set of pans :p

switched off my router for 2 hours, but still no joy. Thanks for the help though Jon. I may wait 48 hours, see if it clears itself up - as you say it may be something at the exchange?

As we are sub contractors basically the firm that we are sub contracted to has said that two have to go as time and motion have said that we are not needed for one of the contracts, and at the moment they have time and motion in the department as well who will probably want to get rid of another. So things are not looking to good for the future. I've put feelers out for getting my reserve status changed to active so that'll give me work for another year if they'll have an old war horse like me back.

I have some red EL wire, would be fun to try something like this (external link).

Also, the light ball photos are starting to get on my nerves. I have no idea how he manages to pull these off (external link).

The only thing I can think of would be to swing a light at the end of a string in a vertical fashion over a point on the ground and then slowly walk around that point. Your hand would have to stay over the point and not travel too far in any direction though, and I would think some shadow of it would remain visible.

I'm going to have to experiment with it and see if I can't replicate it somehow.

I spent some time looking around earlier, couldn't find a definitive explanation.
I did find something about usin K'NEX for a small orb, but nothing that grand.

A copy of Forza 3, my old duff xbox (there's a bit of a market for spares) and a couple of little glass oil lamps that Ali wants to sell.

Guess which is the only item with any bids at all....?

Pete, I might be after a copy of forza III
my version won't work on a new xbox360 if I want to go online with it!

My ebay name is "womblin_free". If you want it, bid for it and you'll probably get it for a cheap price (I have no bids and no watchers and it ends tomorrow)

It has all of the codes unused - it's basically brand new ( bought the limited edition, so swapped the codes and disks from that into this box)

it'll be chepaer if you just let the auction end + assuming no one buys it you can just do a private sale with no ebay sale fees apart from the listing fee obv ??
