I got this e-mail today through Flickr:

"Hi, my names John graham im an artist from Newbiggin by the sea in Norhumberland. Im mainly a Portrait painter but have started doing the odd wildlife painting, im loving your work great shots and so crisp! would it be possible to use any of your work as a reference for future paintings, your Fox's are fab. My web site is www.johngrahamart.com (external link) if you would like a look. yours John"

I've had one of my photographs used for a painting before but that was a friend of a friend, whereas this is out of the blue.

Thoughts anyone?

Ta - it was a bit severe as there was little in the way of clouds but enjoyable none the less.

Right, Not posted a pic for a while so I thought i'd show you what i'm up to. I work in films as a painter, but work along side sculpters. I fancy having ago, I'm fairly artistic and reckon I can do it.

Heres the start, its the drawing pinned down onto polystyrene which i have to cutout and shape, using various tools, sandpaper etc, then i'm going to take it to the fibreplasterers and let them mould it, then back to myself for painting...

(some bits missing, off this pic)

QUOTED IMAGE

Anyone interested in the progress?

Following on from this, I've cut it out and now need to shape it. Quick picture as I've gotta go away for the weekend :( (taking camera though :D)

IMAGE: http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4059/4332476301_3430abaa44.jpg

Once its shaped, i'll get some better pics to show the detail. :) Also in work I've been playing with colours, two are being made, ones going pink/pale gold with silvers and blacks.. and the other blue over white. Shall explain more about the colours as I go on.

Have a good weekend all, I won't be back on here till Sunday evening!

ps: nice duck pics :p
