Might as well add a shot from me then, here's some toys the wife made for a friend's birthday.

I must sort out taking pictures on white backgrounds properly, I'm ending up PSing too much grey out of the background.

I've been having the same problem with the grey in light box shots but that's because I only use the 430 on camera bouncing at the top, I don't think it's a big deal though, exposure setting in PS make them look alright :)

I love the shot btw :D

I own a bunch of Canon stuff and I love taking pictures. Follow me on twitter (external link) :o

I got this e-mail today through Flickr:

"Hi, my names John graham im an artist from Newbiggin by the sea in Norhumberland. Im mainly a Portrait painter but have started doing the odd wildlife painting, im loving your work great shots and so crisp! would it be possible to use any of your work as a reference for future paintings, your Fox's are fab. My web site is www.johngrahamart.com (external link) if you would like a look. yours John"

I've had one of my photographs used for a painting before but that was a friend of a friend, whereas this is out of the blue.

Thoughts anyone?

Oh boy! well it is great that he has found you but I suspect when you mention a usage license and fee he will say but I only wish to use it as reference so was hoping to have it for free, when if he is like other artists I have read about the painting will actually be a derivative work.......but I may be misjudging him so it cannot hurt to open discussions about it, can it?

That was a great meal ~ you must have a good set of pans :p

I think I need to create one of those boxes one day, I'd just been bouncing off the ceiling. Lighting is not my forte but learning is fun :)

Evening all.

Looks like Play.com have put the kybosh on London for me tomorrow. The package I thought was my CF cards was infact some random promotional laminate samples :rolleyes:
Unless they turn up tomorrow I'll only have the small 1GB card the seller threw in with the 40D. Meh.

Going to spend tonight eating Mexican food and playing Uncharted 2 to make myself feel better.

Jonathan - Love the 1st shot, great lighting/colours.
Anke - Are they Romans? :D

Cardboard box, line it with A4 paper and cut windows in the side and line them with tracing paper, it's so easy and cheap. You can just rest flashes on the table beside what you are shooting.

Description above, only one flash used.
