Went out down the harbour tonight and tried some long exposure shots I'm relying on everyone to tell me if they are crap but I'll be happy with average.

Those have come out really well! I never seem to get long exposures correct. 1 & 3 are the best. Really like the refelctions on the water in 1. 3 has awesome dynamic range - is that 1 exposure? #2 could do with a bit of a white balance fix i think.

Anyone know how much the Tottenham Ct Rd shops charge for CF cards?
Jacobs want £35 for an Extreme III that cost me £15 on Play :( I cannot justify buying one just for tomorrow.

Cheers good to know I got something right for once, no. 2 was done on bulb with a one minute exposure on f4.5 as there was no light on that area as it's facing out to the channel and manual focus so I'm please with the way it came out maybe a white balance fix I used auto in light room on all of them as this seemed to give the best results. No. 3 is a 30 second exposure at f16.

I think my mind is made up, 135L it is, i'm tempted by the one from HK although last time I bought a lens from there I got clobbered by tax three weeks later so it would have been better to get it from the UK, I see that theres a guy in scotland who has them for £735 on ebay, is that a good price? seems to be and no tax to pay.
Or am I being silly and I should be upgrading my body to say a 7D before I go new glass, I just cant decide......

Sod the Hong Kong lenses and the tax risk.
Upgrade to a 7D - wait a bit for the lens.
The 7D is a nice big jump from a 40D.

Dont bother buying them from shops. Total rip off no matter where you go. You could actually try CEX for things like that. They tend to go much cheaper! In fact, I might do that tomorrow.
