On the subject of mags - are there any that i shud be reading?

I never saw a photography magazine that wasn't

a) patronising (teaching you stuff you already know)
b) trying to make you buy kit you don't really want/need

I get far more feedback/advise/inspiration from POTN.

Magazines have really had their day. Can't see anything that one offers that a search online doesn't.

I only bother with Professional Photographer and Photo Pro these days, and the odd Amateur Photographer. The rest just seem to cover old ground that, when you're a noob it's great but now I have advanced rather a bit past noob they have nothing new to interest me with.

I have both of those mags on subscription. I find the business/marketing side far more inspiring than the same sorry photoshop tutorials you find in other mags.

Soooo, Holly just went home - spent the whole day with her. I think im onto a winner here. She even seemed quite keen on being in photos etc. Super! I haven't taken any yet though - I thought it might be slightly odd to bust out the camera at that particular point

Do you guys think that NAT GEO subscription is Kosher? Seems ridiculously cheap.

Had my first slightly reasonable sale today on shutterstock ( micro stock site ) instead of the normal 25 cents per download got $28. I know it is pittance but made me feel better about myself while I am waiting for the big sales to come through on Alamy

Weh heh! congrats Adrian, every little bit helps :)

I wouldn't hold your hopes up. I was looking forward to it too, when it arrived it went straight in the bin, not even charity shop. Very poor quality and stank like it was very old.

Morning all - looks like a nice start to the day. May go out for a quick walk before heading off to Folkestone.

Our first Gold @ Winter Olympics for many a year ~ congrats to Amy Williams, Womens Skeleton Gold Medal :D

Looks like not everyone is happy about this:

"The United States lodged a complaint against Williams' helmet, which was supported by five other nations, after Thursdays's two runs. That was dismissed by skeleton's international governing body."

"Canada lodged a second complaint after Williams' winning run, but that too was thrown out."

Sweet - just placed my order :D

Was watching the skeleton bob last night. F-me they travel sooo fast! I would be terrified to do that, especially head first! Congratulations to our girl though, especially as she has no facilities to train in this country!
