I don't think NASA generally photoshop their satellite image releases.

Ahh but is it a real release?

@ Matt ~ best wishes to both of you & the little one on the way. Safe, sound and happy times to come for you :D

@ Rich ~ rock n roll. It is a wonder that you will have any time for the day job soon

Ref: the weather ~ the daftest comment I heard yet was on the news last night, they were interviewing people and a Canadian lady said that in Calgary they have 69 snowploughs and clear the runway in minutes and......how come Heathrow have only two snowploughs. Seems to have escaped her attention that Calgary (possibly) has snow for three months of the year but we get it rarely!!!! Just how much would she like to pay for her Heathrow airport taxes for a £1M worth of kit (69 snowploughs) standing idle for years, hang a mo we could sell to Calgary as their must get worn out very quickly

Yeah i heard her say that as well lol, stupid woman!

Conspiracy theory alert ~ Britain does not really get snow but NASA insists 'they' are covered with the stuff  Or are you talking about the waving moon flag debate??? ;)

Someone is going some to hack NASA's webserver just to plant an image of the UK under snow.

Yea, it was Calgary they were talking about, I saw it too.

Still...one of the first things they talk about when the city shuts down due to weather is how much it costs the country. The two estimates I heard this morning on the BBC were £600 and £690 million.

Seems like an invenstment in ploughs and grit machines wouldn't go too far wrong...

7d Electronic Viewfinder:
The electronic level in the viewfinder is not enabled by default.

To turn it on you need to go into custom function IV and reassign the M-fn button from its default of FEL to Electronic Level.
One enabled holding down the M-fn will bring up the level.
:D

I suspect that anything coming from Jersey will be delayed big time (I have a Sandisk ImageMate coming from Picstop) as AFAIK they fly a lot of their 'post' to the mainland.

On a related note ~ I ordered some SODIMMs from Crucial yesterday and it will be interesting to see just how quickly that comes, in the past it has been overnight to 1 extra day at worst!

Cost/Benefit analysis no doubt stops such types of investments as in the case of gritting trucks and stocks of rocksalt that would come from local taxation....grrrr!
