It is a wonder that you will have any time for the day job soon ![]() Ref: the weather ~ the daftest comment I heard yet was on the news last night, they were interviewing people and a Canadian lady said that in Calgary they have 69 snowploughs and clear the runway in minutes and......how come Heathrow have only two snowploughs. Seems to have escaped her attention that Calgary (possibly) has snow for three months of the year but we get it rarely!!!! Just how much would she like to pay for her Heathrow airport taxes for a £1M worth of kit (69 snowploughs) standing idle for years, hang a mo we could sell to Calgary as their must get worn out very quickly ![]() Yeah i heard her say that as well lol, stupid woman! Still...one of the first things they talk about when the city shuts down due to weather is how much it costs the country. The two estimates I heard this morning on the BBC were £600 and £690 million. Seems like an invenstment in ploughs and grit machines wouldn't go too far wrong... Cost/Benefit analysis no doubt stops such types of investments as in the case of gritting trucks and stocks of rocksalt that would come from local taxation....grrrr!
