Thanks for all the kind words.
I prefer the second also.
I took another version of this image shot in portrait format and can't make my mind up which one I prefer. ?!

Titus213, don't worry, no Walmat around here just the odd farm and the ruined Keills Chapel which is a typical medieval West Highland church. It's not easy to see in the reduced version but it's just to the right of the white farm building.
It holds some well preseved 14th century (guess,)and earlier, crosses and grave slabs.

That'll teach you to visit the local hostelry before shooting:lol:

They are lovely shots, Cameron. The second one in particular.
Thanks for sharing :) :)

:D Thought about a lager shandy on the way past Tayvallich, but time was pressing. :(
I mentioned earlier I have a version shot in portrait format which I think I'll post alongside the lanscape version and ask for opinions.

Thanks Trevor,

Great shots. I like all of them! Got more??

I think the second shot would be better if it weren't "centered" so much, but it's still a fine shot.

Wow Cameron - makes me want my holiday to be hear even quicker - oh and my DSLR too?! :D

Thanks Damian.
It's a beautiful area and, midweek outside holiday periods, very quiet.
I had the whole of the promontory from Keills chapel to the tip of Rubha na Cille to myself.......bliss. :)

Fine images; partial to the first. Can almost feel the chill on my face.
I've always wanted to visit Scotland. Actually I just want to partake of some good single malt Scotch whiskey.

I like the "zoomorphics" on the grave slabs and the celitic knot work on the crosses - they look to be in quite good condition too.

Nice to see something different for a change! LOL

If it's zoomorphics you like here's a detail of the large cross, The High Cross of Keills.
The top arm of the cross shows an angel stepping on a serpent.
the left and right arms show two lions kissing Daniels face. ( Daniel in the lions den : Book of Daniel 6-18 )
I find the history of this area fascinating.
Kilmartin, Kilmory, Keills,Dunnad, standing stones cup & ring marks .......all of it.

Cameron,
Thanks for that...

I agree with you - the history of the the area and the whole of Scotland is fascinating!

I first became interested in zoomorphic’s when I was at university and attended a lecture give by George Bain and it was through that mans "raw enthusiasm" I developed a life long interest which has included history and many other avenues!

You certainly would enjoy the Northumberland countryside for the "cup & ring marks " not been to many of the sites but the ones I've seen have been interesting.

Lomond'

Absolutley stunning shots!

Slightly of topic, but how did you create the framing? I've been trying to get somthing similar (with the drop shadows on the text) for a few days now and keep failing miserably.

Thanks.

I use Mikes Framer Script. ( Thanks again Mike )
You can find a discussion and link to Mikes home page here.

Go to his home page and download Version 1.09.

It works great.
