As we continue with our business I want to brand ourself a little better. In my opionion your logo is a very important part. I know some will not agree but hey thats why we all come in different shapes and sizes :D

Not sure if you all are familiar with 99designs but it is a really cool site where you submit what goals of the design and different designers submit you there designs. In the end you pick the one you want. Obviously after you pay the fee. Which will be what ever you set it at.

Any way the link below is where the designers have submitted there designs. I have my favorites and they are marked with 4 or 5 stars. I understand we all have different taste, but would like to get your opionion.

I really like 59. I like the simplicity of it. I also liked having the CW above the line and the Lewis + Photography below. Not for any particular reason, I just did. It made me pause to look. In general, though, they've turned out some nice things for you.

I'd steer clear of #73, since there is no print representation of your name, and it's difficult to read the script. The L looks like a C, and the s isn't perfectly obvious. If I didn't know your name, I wouldn't feel confident about what it was.

Also, of the ones you have starred, I didn't like #37 - the initials come together to look like a cartoon schnoz to me. :) Like a caricature of a French nose. Call me crazy...

Just my uneducated opinions.

Thanks I would love any feed back that anyone can give good or bad. So thanks for our observations.

I figure this will be the last time I change my logo so I want to get it right!

I love the graphic CW that can be separated out and used on things like your packaging where your name doesn't necessarily need to be restated.

32

Love the elegance of it.

That's a cool site. I think I like 53 and 78, especially the business card on 78.

That's an awful site. Spec work is a horrible, horrible thing and this site caters to that completely.

As a designer, artist, photographer, etc.. you should NEVER want to patronize something like this.

Can you imagine having to go shoot a wedding, along with 10 other photogs... and then the bride gets to decide, after the wedding has been shot, which one is worthy of getting her approval. The rest get nothing.

That sucks.

Sorry, to hijack your thread, but I couldn't help myself, that is so pathetic.

Todd, As I respect your opinion I don't agree. I can see as a graphic designer you would not like the site as it could take business away from you, but some of the designers on that site use it to build there portfolios for designers in the same way we might use MM for building ours.

I don't think there is anything at all wrong with it and encourage people to use.

Thanks, and I won't argue the point with you any more than I already have. Just be aware that this is a very slippery slope and one that gets argued about here when it relates to photography. Many argue that the Craigslist photographers are ruining the business for real working photographers, etc... there is no difference here.

Anyways, I know I'm not going to change your mind, but just HAD to say something, it wouldn't be my nature if I didn't. 8-)

Lol... No problem Todd and to be honest it does deserve thinking about. Thanks for letting us see the other side of it.

I personally wouldn't go with #53. It has too much wasted space. By the time you resize that for anything, say a business card for example, you will barely be able to read the text unless it takes up the entire card. The letter spacing on that one also looks weird.

Hmmm good observation. I really like this one for some reason though. I guess for a biz card my only option would be top header though...

Todd, As a graphic designer myself, I have to agree with you totally!! I would never stoop so low as to put myself on that website, jumping up and down with my hand held up high, "pick me, pick me"!!!!
