My son has asked me to help edit his website.
I am pretty savvy with Dreamweaver, but not with Adobe Flash.
He wants me to update some of the contact info and address.
I downloaded all his files, but there were no flash files.
Any ideas how I can help him?
Thanks
His website is:

You'll have to make changes in the source fla file and export it to swf to replace what is there now. The site might use xml or txt files to pull in the content in which case you won't have to touch the flash file.

Thanks Jay for the quick response.
Thats the problem, there is no .fla files, only html.
The files are all very small.
If you want, I can let you try and edit it.
You would be a hero.
Thanks

If you don't have the original .fla files, making edits to a flash site are going to be significantly harder to do.

If you only have the .swf file, then to make changes, you will need to use a decompiler on the .swf file. This will usually open the .swf file into Flash and turn everything into objects. It may or may not keep any of the more complicated actionscripting in place or not. It's a total crapshoot, every time I use one of these decompilers, you never know what you'll end up being able to get at.

I usually use Gordan Flash Decompiler or Trillix.

By the way, the file you're looking for is:

autosource2007.swf

It's on your webserver somewhere.

Sorry, I don't have it installed on my machine anymore (I seldom do anything with Flash anymore - I'm all about php, html and css now).

If you do need more help and want to PM me to discuss it further, I'd be happy to help. Just bear in mind that I am a professional, so I don't do a whole lot for free. heheh ;-)a
