Darter Dragonfly pt 2

A couple of earlier stages after hatching.
#1 a few minutes out
#2 wings are expanded by pumping in fluid. Insect flies after about 90 minutes.

Leorooster: The dragonfly is about 1 1/2 inches long with a wingspan (when dry and open) of about 3 in. This one is a 'Darter' 'Hawkers' are a bit bigger.
Mannytkd: I can't see where you live, and it is almost too late to catch them "hatching" for this year. But anywhere where there is fresh water you should see them on a sunny day. Watch where they perch, and sit and wait. Good Luck,
