We skied today in Little Cottonwood Canyon across the way from Alta. Beautiful sunny day, and my first real opportunity to shoot skiing with my 40D. These shots were taken with a sigma 10-20 lens with a cpol attached. f9, iso 200, 125-400. I wish on some of the actions shots, (not posted) i would have opened the aperture a bit as the skier wasn't quite sharp. But all and all, a very nice morning.

Going up the view was nice

You bet, a top loader bag in front of the chest holds it nice and tight, even when jumping off of stuff, and gives good access. I went again this morning at dawn, and it would have been amazing, but, I forgot the camera!! Arg!!

Man I love skiing Alta! That and Big Sky are a close 1 and 2 for me, with the slight edge going to Alta for the almost guaranteed powder. Great photos! :D

Shooting at f9 at 125-400 shutter....the reason the action wasn't sharp is most likely the shutter speed...need 800 plus IMO. Beautiful country...nice shots....like the first.
