@TMR - Any way to know if you have the new version? I just bought one about 2-3 weeks ago.

Good question. Let me see if I can find out.

Any update on this? I'm planning on buying one this week from Cheetahstand and hope that they are carrying the new version.

As far as I know, all of the TD-381's being sold by CheetahStand are the new version. I believe it's been that way for a month or so.

I don't know how to know if you have the older version other than to see if you hear the clicking that so many complained about.

From what I hear, Pixel addressed that issue and it's no longer a problem with the current version.

Well, I just ordered 2 from DealExtreme. I've had nothing but problems with the unit I got from Flash Zebra (youngnu, SF-18) so I am going to give this unit a try.

Since it's been 8 months from '10 do you think the units are all the newer version? Is all still fairly good with this unit?

Hi everyone!

I just ordered a Nissin Di866 mkII and the Pixel TD-381. Am I mistaken if I think they work well together?

In the description of the batterypack the Nissin flash wasn't listed, but I figured it should work anyway.. Anyone here know anything about this combination I should know?

Nissin Di866 mkII has the High Voltage socket... so you are good to go.

I was surprised to see how much that flash is! Is it worth spending that much vs getting the 580 speedlite?

If it's the di866mk2 you mean, I think so, atleast from what I read.

The 580ex2 is around 4000SEK and in total I paid around 1700SEK for the Nissin.

However, I guess I'll go for YN flashes as slaves.

If you're in the US then Cheetahstand is the place to get one.
