And the US. Got mine from Dealextrem, too, but got them after I left for vacation. My Flashzebra (yougnou pack died on me)

Thinking of picking one up. Any suggestions in terms of batteries that work best with them? So far I've been using Eneloops. Will they be good for both in-flash *and* TD-381?

Also why use Cheetahstand over Dealextreme? +$30 Higher price justified by ease of return?

I use enelopes and they work fine.

Don't forget Dealextreme has free shipping, too, but it takes up to 2 weeks to get them though. It was not a problem for me though.

Some want or need them faster than what Dealextreme can deliver.

It's Powerex AA 2700 MaH for me, and most essentially the Maha Recharger MH-C9000.

I know that the Maha will provide the best charge or recondition, and let me see when a cell is failing to take a good charge. The battery is spot-marked and put back into service. If next charge is slow, the battery is thrown out.

10/6/11 - Placed order on DealExtreme
10/10/11 - Status: Waiting for supplier.

I did order some misc. stuff with it though, so maybe it is not the battery pack that is holding the shipment.

I've been using three of these TD-381's for the past 6 months and they are great. Recycling times at half power is practically instantaneous, and I have not had a single failure.

I was a little dubious about purchasing this kit to start with. So I bought one unit and trialled it, with great results and then went on to buy two more.

One thing i don't like about these units though is the plastic casing, it does have a very 'Made in China' feel to them, although like the Canon's model, they do come in a protective case, so weatherproofing issues are eased somewhat.

In fact last Autumn I lost a light-stand to the wind, and ended up with one of my 580exii's, a Pocket Wizard Plus II and the Pixel Power Pack, all getting submerged in a 10 inch deep muddy puddle.

My concern was obvious. I just switched everything off, Let it dry out overnight and in the morning tested everything and it all worked fine, with no problems since.

This gear is a very good investment, and I'd highly recommend them.

Here's a link to one of my blogs. These shots were taken with my 580exii's powered by the Pixel TD-381's, Key and fill lights were fitted with shoot through umbrella, and a bare 580 exii was used in some of the shots as a rim light.

My TD-381s just arrived today. Bought them from Cowboy Studios in TX via http://www.amazon.com …ASIN/B0049JO71G/onesimus/ (external link) they were cheaper than DealXtreme and got them in 2 days. I can't wait to try them out and compare them to my Canon CP-E3 pack.

I haven't found it in the thread and maybe I'm missing something but does this powerpack work with the Yongnuo 565EX's? Also, Cheetahstand is the best place to get them? Thanks guys

Yes it will work with your 565EX, I've had good luck with Cheetahstand great customer service. Amazon is another option but remember to order if it says "fulfilled by amazon" less hassles and faster shipping.

I was thinking about Amazon, but are the revised versions of these TD-381's being carried everywhere now? Amazon is cheaper than the ones at cheetahstand, but there is no guarantee that I'll receive the revised version. Any thoughts or whether I should just stick with cheetahstand to be sure of this? Thanks
