Shot these today, temperature never got above -4 degrees C so it did not take long to lose the feeling in my fingers. The birds were in the only small part of the loch that was not frozen.

Good news for them in this weather, the Scottish Government has put a temporary shooting ban in effect for all waterfowl and most gamebirds, but it will take more than that to help them survive this severe weather. www.moparuk.co.uk
