My warranty ends in mid February and I want to get it all cleaned up. I also want to make sure everything is working right just incase I decide to sell it later down the road. Would sending it into Canon be the best idea or are there any other local companies that would do this for me? I would try to clean it myself but I don't want to risk messing anything up.

Any suggestions?

So really what you're saying is you want to send it in and have it checked over .. but under warranty.
Only Canon CSC can do that for you .. every other option will cost you money (the last one the most if you mess something up ;) ).

I'm a strong believer of "if it ain't broken, don't fix it" .. meaning if it works fine now why bother.

Yes, that is exactly what I want to do. Although there is one thing wrong with it and I've actually already sent it in for this problem before and Canon did not fix it. I was having problems with my on camera flash not popping up and when it didn't it would say, "error 505". I'm assuming that when they checked it out it popped up so they saw nothing wrong with it and sent it back.

Then you have a solid reason to send it in. Just ask before sending it in if they 'check it over' while they have it in. You may have to request that and the clean.

just one question...

Why would you expect that a clean would be covered under warranty.

Dust getting on to sensor or the camera becoming dirty is simply a result of normal use and not a problem with the camera - a bit like buying a new car and driving it for six months and then returning it to the dealer because it got dirty and expecting them to clean it under warranty.

Just curious...
