Last night after grabbing the "big-brown-truck" package off my front porch I hurriedly opened the package in the laundry room. Upon opening I slapped the new lens on the 1D MkIII and looked for a duck. Alas there was none so one of the Pugs had to do for the first quickie! :)

Not bad for hand-held and wide open. First blush says this lens will be a performer.

A better, but still not terribly telling, test will come in a bit.

17-40 f/4L
