And I missed focus because (a) he was flitting all about and (b) I was trying to manually focus while (c) learning how to use the dang push/pull of the 100-400. Interesting lens, strange design. I am going to mount it on the 1D3 for rugby tomorrow (at least for a while) and see how I do, but I'll let the gear do the focusing, lol, and I'll have the 70-200 w/ 1.4x TC in the bag as well.
