Pocket Wizard AC5 Quick test

I got one of two AC5s in the mail last week.
But it on a 580EXII as per instructions.
Situated 580 behind door with shoot through umbrella.
Example shot is at 65 paces, about 180 feet.

More testing will have to wait for better weather and the other AC5 to arrive.

Strange test shot.... look like it didn't work. Plus a ghost image... pretty creepy.

The test shot is through a window. The ghost image is a reflection of a partial wall that has snow on top in the window, which has a UV film on it to protect the art.
The light is aimed at the mannequin head with the color checker under it.
Its easy to see where the flash lit the head.

Everything else is existing light, it was an overcast day.

im liking that speedlight ball mount.. my calumet version (umbrella mount only)doesnt allow the light to hit the center of the umbrella... plus i have a rf602 to add more height..

what kind of umbrella stand and ball mount is that??

I think the umbrella mount is from Flash Zebra. Its plastic, works fine.
The small ball head is from Adorama if I recall correctly.
After doing this quickie test I realized It might be even better if the flash were laying along the umbrella shaft. That can easily be accomplished via the ball head and it orients the antenna on the TTL5 to point straight up which should help too.
