For some reason, whenever I upload a PNG to ANY host, it gets darkened slightly. Any ideas why?  Has anyone else noticed this? Not really a problem (in the example above I actually prefer the PNG!), but I'd just like to know why this is so.Thanks for any help!

It's a color management issue on your end. Check out Rene's links and you'll be able to fix it. I don't hate macs or OSX, I hate people and statements that portray them as better than anything else. Macs are A solution, not THE solution. Get a good desktop i7 with Windows 7 and come tell me that sucks for photo or video editing.

Copy and paste them into an editing program, Paint even, layer them over each other and flick between them - you should be able to see that one is darker. If not, then I apologise, I don't know what's happening here!
