On my 20d, there was an option to bring you back to the previous menu position you left when you hit the menu button again. The 7d doesn't seem to have to have this custom setting and that makes me cry a little inside. I was fiddling with flash setting to use wireless trigger and I seemed to have to go thru the entire flash menu every time i wanted to modify the a/b ratio.

I looked thru the manual and menu but I can't seem to find anything that sound like it. Perhaps it's just done differently now. Any advice?

Even better, you can set up a custom menu with your most used choices that will come up whenever you first press the menu key. I love it.

I like this feature too. Look on page 222 "Register My Menu".

I did my custom menu, I'd still like what zore described. Because even if you have "Flash control" in the menu, it still takes quite a few clicks to adjust ratios between shots. Would be nice if there was a quick way "back".

The 7D always remembers where you were in the menu system, but only at the top level. So it will enter on the high level flash control menu, if you exit down at the wireless control menu.

If you have a 580 EX II as a master, you can easily just spin the wheel on the flash to adjust the A:B ratio.

I did register the flash bit in the custom menu. You can even set the SET button to take you right too your custom menu when you hit it but it's not quite as convenient as hitting the menu button and it taking you right back where you were before you took the shot.

Oh well, I suppose I'll need to return the 7d and continue useing the 20d. All kidding a side, while it's a feature I really liked, the 7d has plenty of other juicy bits that still make me go wow every time I pick it up. Thanks for confirming my suspicions.
