I recently discovered in my storage archives that I have a twin-set of Windows Small Business Server 2003 sets. My cousin that gave me these things back in 2005 -- he had some enterprising account through Dell (I think??) that enabled him to get a lot of free stuff software from Microsoft, perhaps from his work (I dunno...can't remember).

Anyhow, I'm looking at this Server case....with two product keys (one on each set) that have never been used (to my knowledge). No certificates of authenticity however!

I don't have any need for this stuff....but I'm wondering what (if anything) could be done with this *legally*! A couple of my IT friends tell me its still out there (and Ebay sales would seem to confirm this as well). Selling it sounds risky, as I don't want the Microsoft '****s' coming after me!

If I knew someone well enough that I could trust that they wouldn't rat me out to MS, I'd easily give away one or both copies.

I hate to toss it....but then I have no idea about how to get rid of it either! :D

Thoughts?

SBS didn't come with a certificate of authenticity. Just a key on the CD sleeve. So unless it's been installed on a server and is still running. Your keys are valid.
