I wanted to try the BIGMO with the XSi. This familiar male first was bathing in the morning sun in a bush 34 feet away; he then came closer (19 ft) to eat some peanuts.
500 mm + 1.6 crop factor, 1/400 @ f. 9 (bush pic) and 1/250 @ f. 9 (peanuts pic), 800 ISO.
PP in LR2 as DNG file, noise removal + sharpening with NeatImage.
CC welcome.
Thanks for looking.
Gerard

Thanks for the comment.
#2 was closer - # 1 was a bit far, but despite the clutter I like it as well, it came out better than I thought. A bunch of other shots of the same subject are not as sharp.

Good shooting Gerard. He sure looks cold in that first shot. Nice job on the reds.

Two good shots but the first one is perfect with the male all puffed up. Good catch.

Great detail. Seems almost perfect exposure especially given the shadows. I really like the detail and clarity in the eye on the first one. Nice shooting!

#2 is sharp as a tack. Seems a little unsaturated/flat, though. Reddish bird/brownish wood, reddish/gray background...tough to do much better!
