Gym lighting can be really bad due to the cycling of the flourescent lights. You can expose part of the cycle depending on your shutter speed (60hz in the US IIRC).

PP is probably the only way to cure it other than very careful choice of shutter speed.

I try to get it right in the camera BUT there are times that PP is the only way.
.

I agree Mike.. I always try to get it righ in the camera.. When shooting under tungsten lighting I set my WB to around 3,200 degK.. Any final tweaks can be done in DPP.. This is the good thing about shooting in RAW..

The question I have now is...Should I convert to DNG with the way RAW formats change with every model?

Is it better to convert my RAW to the Adobe DNG format which may be around, unchanged, a lot longer than the RAW format from my body. Will PS or LR eventually stop support of older raw formats?

Hmmmmm,,I really don't know Mike.. I convert my RAW files into JPEGs for web use and printing but I also archive my best RAW files for future use..

I use DPP to aquire, adjust and convert into JPEG but use PS for any further post processing of JPEGs.. I also try to get it right in the camera and keep post processing down to a minimum..

Hope this answers your question..

Yes, 60Hz here in the U.S., which means the light intensity cycles at 120Hz.

I always found that 1/120, 1/60, and 1/30 sec work best, so the light averages out over a whole number of cycles. Slower than 1/30 sec, it no longer matters much. Shorter that 1/120 sec and you'll get completely unpredictable light, unless you sync your shutter with the power line (requires a special adapter).

For you types with 50Hz power, make that 1/100, 1/50, and 1/25 sec.
