Now that I know how to use my new camera more, I got some better pictures than my first few I posted here. Anakin is the bright yellow one and Skye (short for Skywalker) is the blue/green one.

Practicing with the close ups on these two.

Their names are Anakin and Skye. Skye is my oldest at 19 months and Anakin is the baby at 7 months. There are called indian ringneck parakeets. Both talk lots. Having parrots is a lot like having two year olds with can openers attached to their faces. They measure 16 inches (Anakin) and 18 inches (Skye) from beak to tail. Anakin was DNA tested male, and I'm pretty sure Skye is male as well, but he has never been DNA'd. I'm just basing that off of behaviors he does.

Anakin is getting much more comfortable with the camera now. It used to scare him pretty badly and now he doesn't seem phased by it, so long as I approach him slowly. In this picture, he climbed up on my leg. I was sitting on the floor while shooting these.

IMAGE: http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4014/4288814993_b2a959a55e.jpg

Skye thinks my camera is just another chew toy, so I can't tell you how many blurry beak pictures I have of him.

IMAGE: http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4001/4288814823_473c74057e.jpg

Anakin still likes feeding Skye. I'm pretty sure Skye is a male, but I've never seen him feed Anakin. Only Anakin feeding Skye. I don't know what that means, but Skye will be two sometime this April (time flies!) so I guess we'll find out then.

C&C please!

The Citrons look quite alot like our Aussie sulphur cresteds but the crest is more orangy, I suppose they must be related.

Great pictures everyone! I love the one of Bailey. :D I would love a good bathing shot, but I'm afraid to get any water on my camera. :D

Nice to see parrot fotos--great timing with the shot of Bailey, and Peanut looks like he has lots of personality.

We've a houseful of parrots some eleven (11) in all, and here is our latest, KK, who we've adopted from friends:
