Nice mix of different birds. The eagle shot is cool though.

Thank you for looking in and commenting.

An excellent set Dave,

The perched eagle might be a favorite, but I love the lighting on the eagle in flight shot too, and these are all sharp with great color and details.

very nice shooting as usual,

Kenn

Excellent series of a variety of birds, well done, I especially like the image of the grand black Raven. The Canon 400mm f/5.6 lens seems to be a great lens for birding in capable hands of course... Great job as always.

Thank you Kenn, I don't get too many chances for in flight eagle shots, I was fortunate to get this shot along Lake Superior while I was photographing the Northern Hawk Owl.

Thanks Cyclop for the nice comments... I really enjoy the 400, it is so easy to hand hold and when I have good light, it seems to do a fine job... especially heavy crops with the 50D.

Some wonderful shots, my fave is #3. We have very similar species in Hokkaido. The eagles/chickadees aren't quite the same (but very close), the woodpeckers are a little different but the Waxwings are the same. Our Jays are pink, not blue though.........

Thanks for the comments Stu... if you have a shot of the "pink jay", that would be an interesting post.
