I like the 1.2 of the 50 and I have the 5D ii so I can micro adjust it. I have heard that it can have small AF problems. But will I want wider? Hmmmm

I would get the 35L because it is always easier for me to take a step forward than a step back, that and you used the word indoor.

The 35L is my most used lens at weddings! (I've had the 50L too)

For indoors I would go with the 35mm for full frame cameras and 24mm for cropped cameras.

I use 2 bodies, one with a 24mm and the other with the 50mm. Works great for me.

I like my 50L more than 35L. But I admit, I generally use 35L more during weddings than 50L.

for me, BOTH are useful. 35mm & 50mm is only a little difference of focal length.
if you asked between 50mm & 135mm , maybe i could help.

so, sorry for that.:D

35mm will allow you to capture something the 50mm may not. You can always crop but not the opposite direction. I love the 50mm FL on a FF but after getting the 35L I find the slight wider FL nice to have.

I prefer the 35 focal length over the 50, but it depends in how you shoot.
Tim is very successful and takes great shots with the 24 and 50 combo.
Other 'togs are successful and take great shots with the 35 and 85 combo.
Can't really lose there can ya!

35L and a used 40D

35mm 1.4 on a FF
56mm 1.4 on the 40D

That way you can walk around with two bodies if need be without changing lenses.
