Hey All,
I am confused on which beauty dish to purchase, looks like they have two versions Alienbee HO silver and white version. I will be using this for both outdoor and indoor portraits. Thanks a bunch.

I have the silver and its certainly high output. I found it to give nice contrasty light when working close, but if you move too far away from the subject its a bit hard edged.

umphotography grabbing their Johnson More info | I have the HO beauty dish and i baught it because it was soo cheap. Light is harsh/contrasty so i am using the sock. much better, my buddy has one and is using the grid... excellent is how i would rate it with a grid. im thinking ill leave mine as is and get a grid. next alternative is to paint it white. for $48.00 you cant go wrong. Mike
