To me that looks more like a sensor or CF card issue than chromatic aberration from a lens... Do you have a 100% crop of the effected area?

Are you shooting jpg or raw? What pix style? I'm not a fan of the nickname Nifty 250. It is so much better than the 50/1.8.

shooting jpeg... ive only shot about 50-100 pics with this lens, only brought a few onto the cp and these tape measure pics are the only ones with any issues?

So I take it other lenses you have don't do this? Are you sure it is a lens and not camera issue?

Wow, that is strange.

Is it maybe some weird light source that's cycling? I've never seen an effect like that from lighting, but it's a stab in the dark. The fact that they don't appear anywhere but red areas of the tape rule makes me think it's a cycling light source reflecting off the red.

Or, something's wrong with the camera or card...hard to say.

Only affects the color red??

My only guess is that there is some kind of automatic red-eye correction that is attempting to "fix" the images.

didnt think about that, i use photoshop elements and until about a week ago i was letting it import my pics (switched to raw now) and it did a red eye deal... always meant to turn that off and always forgot until it was too late...lol

havent seen any other issues since, been taking alot of good shots with this lens.
