I'm using a 50D, so it's logical that noise..is something I don't like to raise above 1600/3200, except for small shots on newspaper/web. There are plenty of ISO 12800 shots with IV and have such a low amount of noise. Not fair!

Looks like Canon fixed one major gripe I have with the 1DIII - the W/B... I find myself often correcting W/B (after shooting in AWB) in shots that were taken under tungsten light. The exposures are significantly different - perhaps a stop apart. I can't see the EXIF - what were the shutter speeds and aperture? Tom
