This post is useless without PICTURES (or video):lol:

There's a reason that I choose to photograph rather than be photographed. :)

A quick question that was asked once but sort of got lost on the thread. In general, what are the file sizes produced by the Mark IV? In some applications it doesn't matter, maybe the bigger the better, but I do a lot of projects where JPEG files of 15-20 MB would make a difference. Any quick answers out there? Thanks,

Frank.

I think it's only been announced (external link), not actually released yet.

AF related if I remember correctly...
Hah. :D

"The updated EOS-1D Mk IV firmware is said to improve performance of the camera's autofocus tracking function, both for receding subjects and those that are approaching the camera at low speed."

What is the definition of slow? How slow? I wonder if they felt that bullet hitting their toe?

God please not again. Please. (It almost sounds like the reverse of the 3 problem. Can go fast but not slow this time). The noinks'll have a field day.

I feel sick.

It seems to be a minor update but at least they are on top of it.

Hmm, I have not seen a report of problems re tracking, I have not found any so far on my body, though I have not really tested it yet, but one thing is for sure, CANON are on top of it, improving anything on the 1D MK4 with in a month or so of release, that compared to 1D MK3 where it took 6 months to even admit to a problem.

Good on Canon I say, and it can only make a so far dam good body better.

The exposures are significantly different - perhaps a stop apart. I can't see the EXIF - what were the shutter speeds and aperture?

The biggest thing I see here is that the first shot (1Ds3) was very underexposed.

I suspect flourescent lights were used here. I get that a lot in gyms where I shoot manual. The high cycle is fine, the low cycle is underexposed. Such is life.

I have heard of this issue from three sources now (no not RG :) )

Hopefully the firmware corrects it..... <gulp>

Yeah, that is true especially with older lights that run on line frequency.
