Sold my 1D4 a couple weeks ago thinking of going to the 7DII. Realized today that, after using the 1D-series bodies for so long, the smaller sized camera made my hands ache after several minutes of holing them. So, I have another 1D4 coming home.

I went through that with the 40D. I only had the 40D for a short while, but my hands just hurt too much from trying to grip the smaller body. I've used the 1DIIn since. Now, however, I finally found a pretty good deal on ebay for a 1D4, and have it on the way. Looking forward to the upgrade.

Haven't been on here much lately, but figured I share a shot, taken at a Veterans celebration on November 8th. I like it... hope you all do too...

Day one with my new Canon 1D Mark IV. Cant wait to take it out and test it some more and use it for some motocross and mma coming up soon. Its a bit different then the 5D Mark III I had but I think once I get it all working then I should be good to go.

Used my new (to me) 1D4 to shoot a church interior this week (I would normally use my 5D3, but wanted to see how the 1D4 would do; I had done the same switch off last winter with the 1D3).
I used a 8mm Rokinon f/3.5 for one shot (6 shot blend, f/11, ISO 200, shutter speeds 0.5 second to 8 seconds) and a Samyang 24mm f/3.5 Tilt-Shift for the other (9 shot blend, f/11, ISO 200, shutter speeds 1/15th to 15 seconds).

I was pleased with the 1D4, and would use it again in this role if necessary, although I still believe the 5D3 excels at this type of work.

Taken at a local zoo.......simple conversion to sepia ......got a Safari feel i think !
