Phoenixkh a mere speck More info | Apr 10, 2016 12:18 | #4877 OK.... a sanity check. I tried to format a SanDisk Extreme Pro 64 GB 95 MB's card in my 1D IV and it won't recognize the card. I formatted it in my 70D and it works fine. I have been using a 32 GB 95 MB's card and it works without issue. Truth be told, I didn't realize I had a 32 GB card in the camera until I ran out of room on it yesterday because I took 1602 photographs with the CF card... and the CF card is 64 GB's, btw. So, is the card bad or are there GB restrictions on SD cards on the 1D IV? I was sort of shocked when the 64 GB SD card wouldn't format, esp. since as above, the CF card is 64 GB's. Ok, from what I can glean from DPreview is that all 64GB cards are SDXC and will not work. The 1DIV only works with SDHC cards apparently?

I'm in the middle of downloading a ton of photos and it slows my computer down to a crawl. I'll have Becky use the 64 GB in the 70D she "borrowed" from me. ![]() You're Welcome Kim. And I'm sure Becky will enjoy that card in HER 70D

You're welcome. Just use that tool. It will format the card in FAT32. There are other tools out there, but this I have used numerous times without any issue. BoKo

MedicinSC Goldmember More info | Apr 11, 2016 18:22 | #4887 If you are wary of using a tool from the internet, then insert the card into your computer (or card reader connected to your computer). Wait for it to show up as a drive. Then right click on the drive and select format. You will have an option to format as FAT32. This works in Windows, anyway. Not sure how to go about it on a Mac.

No, it won't work like that at all. BoKo
