Had my first chance to see Bryce Canyon during the winter recently. The snow adds white to the red, green and blue colours usually seen there, plus it was one the few times when I had been there that there were any clouds! I used my 1D4 and 24-105, at a variety of focal lengths, at or near f/11, and always at ISO 100.

Didn't expect to see BIF at the Tucson Desert Museum, so used the longest lens I had with me (70-200 f/4L IS) on my 1D4 to capture these images. I'm not a "birder" and was too far away from the guide/ranger who was speaking, so have no idea what species ... all of them could really "motor" through the air though!

Sometimes, I wonder about myself and confirmation bias. As most of you know, I ended up buying my 1D IV because I was having problems with my 7D2. I kept the 1D IV because I knew I would be second guessing the new 7D2 replacement Canon sent me.

Over the past few months, I've used the 1D IV quite a bit and I've grown comfortable using it. One thing I noticed early on (or think I did... hence the confirmation bias comment) was that the colors were more rich than the 7D2. This was with properly exposed photographs where nothing special was needed or done, from both cameras.

I couldn't ever seem to get colors like this with my 7D2 for some reason. Again, no color enhancements were done... or needed, from my perspective.
